been into the auto electrician and also had full service but could not find the fault .once it starts it runs perfect if stopped for 5mins it still takes about 3 turns to start it again. At one stage it went ok for about 3 weeks but then went back to not starting.any suggestions needed cheers

Struggling to start then running fine suggests something specific to starting, so assuming that the "td5" means it's a diesel, get the glow plugs checked. They do degrade with with age. That was the problem with a diesel I have.

(I am assuming that it turns over vigorously on the starter, otherwise look at starter motor and/or battery.)

I am a US Navy airman training to be an aircraft electrician but I am planning to go to Seaman-to-Admiral ROTC program and train to be a fighter pilot later in service. I've been hearing rumors that I need a Top Secret clearance AND I mostly wanna fly jet fighters/antisub planes for the Navy. I need Navy officers to answer me on this one.
My mom is NOT a US citizen. Will that affect my chance of being Top Gun?

That is completely correct a TS at minimum is needed. Top Gun? Dude Top Gun is a qualification you are PICKED to attend, it has no relevance to the nationality of your mother.

Starting my own small Business Self Employed Electrician?

Posted by admin On January - 14 - 2009

I am studying to be an Electrician and don't know a lot about working for myself? (I have worked all my life in the armed services and have recently been retired on medical grounds)

Is there a difference to being self employed as opposed to running your own Business?

I'm even unsure as to what vehicle I am allowed to have in order to claim back tax benefits? I have been told that I can claim 40% for the purchase price of a vehicle, 40p a mile for the first 10.000 miles and 25p thereafter?
Do you have to have a Business Nmae printed on the Vehicle?

Where is the Best place for me to learn about being self employed….. Any good reading?

Thanks for your help!!!

One of the best places to learn about running your own business is to contact your local Business Link and find out when their next free one day course is on starting a business. It takes you through all the basics that you need to know.

Inland Revenue also run free courses to cover all your tax and national insurance questions. They'll be able to answer your questions about vehicle tax.

You don't have to have a name on your vehicle but why not do it? Whilever the vehicle is on the road, it's advertising for you. It's a pretty cheap way of letting people know about you.

Good luck!

We were given a dryer and plugged it in and it didn't work. We got another dryer and the same thing happened. We were informed that it needed 220 volts. Hired an electrician and we found that he did not do the work since we had someone test it and it was still 110. We called the original electrician and he keeps telling us that the dryer doesn't need 220 volts. We're trying to get our money back because even if what he says is true, he did not perform the services as promised.

A real electrician would know the voltage is 240 volts, not 220. So right off the bat you have a problem. Is he an electrician or a handyman/hack posing as an electrician. If he has a license, threaten to report him. None of us want to risk our licenses doing hack work as he did. If he doesn't have a license, turn him in for working without one. What did the inspector say? He did have a permit for this work right? I'd guess someone is in trouble, he just doesn't know it yet. Go get him.
