totally and utterly. This is a very early fall track, before they really hit form. Check out The Classical which Pavement covered, Totally Wired, An Older Lover, all of the Hex Enduction Hour album, All of Slates Mini album, all of Perverted by Language Album etc…

I read on wiki that …
I read on wiki that the lead guy from ‘The Fall’ claimed the California group ‘Pavement’ was just a rip-off of his work. Yet hearing this song, I see no similarities between The Fall and Pavement. If anything, I’d say The Fall sounds more like the Sex Pistols.

    Am I mistaken?

    …these days and …
…these days and it’s all been done and said before. The Fall to me were the Anti-Christs to the punk movement and that’s why i’ve always listened to them above anyone else, so i do agree with your comments. Good to have a “debate”. All the best to you.

    Thanks for the …
Thanks for the reply 1688264, i agree with you, there is a lot of hero-worship crap around, and i’m sure i’m not alone in thinking hero-worship is the last thing MES or his merry band would ever want and neither would i if it was me.
Of course it’s a debate, i just took it as you slating the video for reasons of musical ineptitude…( which of course you’re entitled to do ). Yeah, Warsaw were pretty crude but refreshing at the time. Suppose i look at most of the stuff ( continued…)

    I answered because …
I answered because I reckon its called “debate” or is it instead relentless hero-worship of rock stars of which “punk” was supposed to be the antithesis.? Listen, I seen the proto-type Joy Division, ( Warsaw.)? in Paisley, Scotland in 1978 and they were awful, as were the overwhelming majority of punk bands. There is this retro ” punk industry ” nowadays which is embarrassing and completely unrepresentative of what was actually happening musically back in the 1970’s. Its a sick joke, tbh.!

  14. SPERANZA65 Says:

    Ok, so you find …
Ok, so you find this embarrassing crap…but this is where The Fall started, in the 70’s in Salford & Manchester, they had something to say which was very valid at the time amidst other “punk” groups such as Buzzcocks/Joy Division etc ( both great groups ). If you don’t agree that the Fall were/are a great band then it baffles me why you took the time to comment on a group you obviously dont appreciate?. Just a thought.

    Hi there, yes, you …
Hi there, yes, you can find this on a Fall bootleg 7″ single on TOTAL ECLIPSE records, it had Dresden Dolls on the A side with Psycho Mafia & Ind. Estate on the B side. The label states the B side as “more songs from the front parlour”. The quality is very good!. I found this 7″, Christ must be in 1985 at a record fair, just a plain white sleeve with The Fall on the front, i’m guessing it’s nigh-on impossible to find nowadays though?. Hope this helps!?.

    Damn, this is …
, this is amazing to see. I believe that this is the very first Fall line-up, with Tony Friel on bass, Martin Bramah on guitar, Una Baines on keys and the great Karl Burns on drums. If you want a scary time-machine comparison check out a recent clip of the Fall. Mark E Smith looks like he’s 60 now.
